We began our work in the Bondo district, but have since expanded, and we now work in a total of in five districts, all of which are in Western Kenya. The districts in which we are active are Bondo, Siaya, Rarieda, Lugari and Kisumu. Lugari is in Western province, while the others are in Nyanza province

The reason why we work in Western Kenya is because of the high prevalance of HIV and AIDS which keeps many people in this part of Kenya in extreme poverty. The prevalence of HIV and AIDS in Western Kenya is still twice the national average and flucturates between 12-24% (compared to 0.2% in the UK). Sick parents cannot sustain their families and children are taken out of school to take over the responsibilities of their parents. Besides HIV and AIDS, malaria, diarrhoea and respiratory diseases that continue to be real threats to many children in the area. People often have to walk for hours to get to a medical health facility, which is often understaffed and lack medicines and other equipment. It is disheartening to witness, so do support our efforts to end poverty and reduce infectious and bacterial infections.

We have included an interactive map below, so play around with it, zoom in and out, and see the locations of the communities we serve.
