sports and health education
This programme's initial goals of a fun and supportive environment for young people and peer support and mentoring on issues of health education have continued to be the focus of the programme.

We believe that a supportive social space is necessary if we are to build their confidence and enable them to renegotiate their social identities. We work both with schools and community groups in setting up active sports teams. The sports that we promote include football, volley ball and net ball. We have implemented sports activities and health education in 4 primary schools as well as set up 12 sports teams in various communities. We provide the children with balls, sports uniforms and other equipment that may be required. We have constructed entire football pitches and sports grounds.

We have a small selection of trusted facilitators who regularly meet the sports teams to discuss sexual and reproductive health. We are in the process of developing a health education curriculum to be taught alongside sporting activities to optimise our impact. Have a look at the video below to see how one of our sports days played out. A really fun day, even for us.
