mahaya lera

One of the earliest groups we started work with, in April 2007 we bought some goats for a number of children in Mahaya, and we have not looked back since.
Founded: 2003
No. of members: 27
No of children supported by WVP Kenya: 49
District: Rarieda
We have 48 students from Mahaya Lera currently on our scholarship programme, enrolled across primary, secondary and polythechnic school. Taking such a high number from the area would not have been possible without the benefits that come from our long-term partnership with the community and the great work they are doing to support those children most in need. Mahaya F.C. have more recently been involved in our inter-community sports and health education programme, although they are yet to bring home the bacon when it comes to trophies - something we are sure they are hoping to change as soon as possible!
