amani support group

Taking their name from the Swahili word for 'peace', this group certainly have an air of serenity about them. Recently founded and still growing, the group haven't wasted any time in getting going.
Founded: 2009
No. of members: 28
No of children supported by WVP Kenya: 15
District: Lugari
Already involved in poultry-keeping and growing of vegetables to feed and support vulnerable children, we felt now was a perfect time to get on board with the group, take advantage of their eagerness and enthusiasm, and work with them to move forward together in finding new and alternative ways to provide comprehensive support and care for orphans and vulnerable children.

The group are involved in our sports and health programme and we will be taking a limited number of children from this group on our scholarship programme as part of our first Lugari intake in 2010, which will see 13 children from the area sponsored through to the end of their primary education.
